AI-assisted CARS-2 and ISAA assessment reports
Score CARS-2 and ISAA in the app and get a complete clinical report back: severity classification, priority domains, a recommended plan and a home programme. Without retyping the whole assessment into Word afterwards.
Assessment is where clinic time disappears
Assessment takes more clinician hours than anything else a paediatric clinic does, and it is usually the last thing to come off paper. The scoring happens on a printed form. The report is written from scratch in a word processor. The finished file ends up on one person's laptop. When the family returns six months later and asks whether anything has shifted, there is nothing to hold the new assessment against.
Tosai keeps the whole assessment inside the child's record: the intake answers, the scores, the generated report, and the exact version the parent received. CARS-2 and ISAA are scored in the same place, so the two can be read together instead of pulled from two unrelated files.
From intake to reviewed report, in five steps
Guided 8-step intake
Developmental, medical, family and language history, collected through a structured wizard so the same ground is covered for every child in the same order.
Clinician scores CARS-2 and ISAA
Both scales are scored in the app by the qualified clinician. The software records and totals what they enter; the scoring itself is theirs.
Optional video analysis
A video of the child can be uploaded for AI analysis to sit alongside the clinician's own observation. The step is optional, and it adds to direct assessment without standing in for it.
The report is drafted
Severity classification, priority domains, a recommended session plan and a home programme, written up from the intake and the scores the clinician entered.
Reviewed, then shared
The clinician reads the draft before anything leaves the clinic. Once approved, the report goes to the parent portal as a PDF and stays attached to the child record.
Why ISAA sits alongside CARS-2
The Indian Scale for Assessment of Autism is what most practitioners here work with day to day, and it is the scale that counts for certification and entitlement processes in India. Practice-management software built abroad tends to leave it out altogether, or reduce it to a PDF you attach to a record.
In Tosai you score it in the app, next to CARS-2, and both feed straight into the generated report. That follows from where the product was built, and who it was built for.
What the generated report contains
- Severity classification
- Worked out from the CARS-2 and ISAA totals the clinician scored.
- Priority domains
- Which areas the intake and the scoring suggest should be worked on first.
- Recommended plan
- A suggested session frequency and focus, for the clinician to accept or change.
- Home programme
- Structured activities the family can run between sessions.
The finished PDF stays attached to the child record and, once approved, is available to the family through the parent portal.
Where the AI stops
Tosai is a clinical documentation tool. It is not a diagnostic device, it does not diagnose autism, and it is no substitute for a qualified assessor. The AI writes up a report from information a clinician collected and scores a clinician assigned, and that clinician reads the draft before it goes anywhere near a family.
We spell this out because families read these reports, and they are entitled to know which parts of the document came from a person.
Questions clinicians ask about AI assessment
Does Tosai support ISAA?
Yes. ISAA is scored in the app alongside CARS-2, and both feed the generated clinical report. It is not handled as a separate attachment.
Does the AI diagnose autism?
No. The clinician carries out the assessment and assigns the CARS-2 and ISAA scores. The AI drafts a report from that clinical data, and the clinician reviews it before it is shared. It is a documentation aid and nothing more.
Is the video analysis compulsory?
No. Uploading a video is optional. Assessments can be completed and reports generated from the structured intake and the clinician's scoring alone.
What format is the report delivered in?
A complete clinical PDF. It stays attached to the child record, and once the clinician approves it, the family can download it from the parent portal.
Which plan includes AI assessment?
Core covers scheduling, notes and goals, the parent portal, billing and HR. The assessment module, meaning the 8-step intake, CARS-2 and ISAA scoring, video analysis and unlimited clinical reports, comes with Core + AI Assessment.
